Rev. B. G. Roberson
Senior Pastor
Bobby Roberson was born and raised in Ringgold, Louisiana and attended school at Ringgold Colored High School and moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1960. Rev. B.G. Roberson joined Fredonia Baptist Church in 1960 and was called into the Ministry in 1961, licensed and ordained at Fredonia Baptist Church. Rev. Roberson joined Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Kansas City, Kansas in 1966. Rev. Roberson attended Western Baptist Bible College from 1966 to 1968. He was the Pastor of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Joplin, Missouri for 15 years.

From December 1982 to March 1983, Rev. Roberson served as the Interim Pastor of the Corinthian Baptist Church of Jesus Christ. He then accepted the call as Pastor on March 10, 1983. He has pastored the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ for 35 years.

He received certificates in Christian Education from the L.J.K. Williams Institute of Dallas, Texas, the Missouri State Baptist Congress, the National Baptist Congress and Administration and Management from Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC), Atlanta, Georgia. He has also received an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Ministries from the University of Central America.

Rev. Roberson has served in a number of Christian leadership capacities. He served on the George Washington Carver Park Board, as President of the Black Ministerial Alliance, Vice Moderator of the Southwest District Association, and President of the Southwest District Congress of Christian Education.

Rev. Roberson served two terms as the Director General of the Missionary Baptist State Congress of Christian Education of Missouri. He served as the Administrative Assistant to the President of Missionary Baptist State Convention, and was Past Executive Secretary of the New Era District Association. He was the first African American, since the establishment of the Association in 1806, to serve as the Moderator for the Kansas City Blue River Baptist Association in 2006.  During that same year, he was invited to preach at the Annual National Baptist Convention.

Rev. Roberson served as the Assistant Director General of the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, USA Incorporated, and currently is serving as Assistant Dean on the Dean Staff, and is well respected among the clergy /laymen leaderships locally and nationally.

Rev. Roberson was elected as the fourth (4th) Vice President of Missouri Missionary Baptist State Convention.

Rev. Roberson has been at Corinthian for 36 years. He is married to the lovely Mary Roberson, and has three (3) children.

First Lady, Mary Roberson is more than just the first lady. First Lady Roberson is a devoted leader in our church and community. She is active in all phases of the church especially the Women’s ministry, Christian Education Director, Program Facilitator and Sunday School teacher. 

First Lady Roberson is very active in her private world. She is a trained educator with more years of involvement than she will acknowledge. Currently she is the Senior Services Manager at the Kansas City Library Central Branch

First Lady Roberson is very much involved in the New Era District Association serving as President of the District Association. She has taught classes to the Minister’s Wives and Widow’s at the District level also holding the position of “Director of the Minister’s Wives and Widows. 

First Lady Roberson did not stop there. She is involved at the state level serving as President of the Ministers’ Wives and Widows at the state convention. Our First lady attends the State and National Congress of Christian Education and the National Baptist Convention. She has served as Chairperson for the National Baptist Committee for Ministers’ Wives and Widows for the National Baptist Convention. She has also been slated to serve on the National Congress of Christian Education for the year 2020.
